HERO Events Chair Laura Burch My name is Laura Burch, and I am a third year Health Promotion and Behavior major from McRae, Georgia (small town in south georgia you’ve never heard of).
HERO has really been a way for me to make a huge UGA, smaller. I love the kids and think HERO’s mission is one that is different and worthwhile–that’s what keeps me in this. However, the people within this organiation are what drives me. These are some of the most passionate, hardworking, and truly great people on this entire campus. You hear it all the time how one personal interaction with a child affected by HIV/AIDS has changed or motivated someone to do new and great things, but it honestly is true. That’s why I am so excited to be working with HERO Events this year. I know that we can take our biggest interaction with these kids– the Olympics to a bigger and better place. HERO Events can do more than just that though. We have room to grow and do new and WOW things over the course of this entire year! Capturing all that HERO is within this committee will be something worthwhile, inspiring, and FUN (I promise)! Work hard, play hard, and remember why– the KIDS! |
