Maddy Boone Year: Sophomore Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia Major: Marketing Why HERO: “Last summer, my eyes were opened when I lived and did mission work for ten weeks in Miami, Florida. I personally witnessed the extreme poverty and disabilities that exist among American children. HEROs gives HIV/AIDS affected children in Georgia, most of whom are extremely poverty stricken as well, opportunities for a normal life that would not have been possible without our help. These children are so easily “forgotten” because their disease is not shown on the exterior, but it is as real as any other and should not be overlooked. Goals: Personally, I want to have the Greek Community become more involved than ever, not only when it comes to fundraising but also with participation in events.
