What is a Team Leader?

HERO Team Leaders act as the liaisons between the HERO organization and the HERO philanthropists who sign up to raise money for our organization in the fall.

T.L.s play a critical role as the leaders, communicators, and motivators for 2,000+ philanthropists, broken down into teams of about 20 philanthropists each. They serve as the face of UGA HEROs to the philanthropists!

How do I sign up to be a Team Leader?

Team Leader sign ups begin around February of each school year so that training sessions can be held a few times throughout the Spring semester in preparation for an incredible fall! Applications for TL’s will be made available on this website and may be turned in at the HERO office where they will be reviewed, and considered during a short interview process. Interviews are very low key–we just want to make sure we place you with the right team for you!

Who’s eligible to become a TL?

Any student who has previously been a HERO philanthropists may apply.

Can I be a Team Leader for my fraternity or sorority?

Yes, if fact we are always looking to improve and expand our membership within the Greek community. If your sorority or fraternity does not currently have a HERO team and you would like to become your chapter’s TL then contact us.

How much time do I have to put into being a Team Leader?

The number of Spring Training sessions varies each year, but on average you can expect to donate a few hours every other week to being a TL in the Spring, and as much time as you’d like in the fall. You have the power to create your own team meeting schedule, but we prefer for teams to meet at least every two to three weeks!
