Tyler Sims, a senior Publication Management major and Fashion Merchandising Minor at the University of Georgia and Richmond Hills High School alumna, has been named the UGA HEROs Committee Member of the Week for the week of September 3, 2012 through September 7, 2012. She is a member of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee led by Katie Shannon and Jonathan Trebble-Greening. “Tyler is extremely hard working and passionate about everything she does with UGA HEROs. She helps motivate and inspire the rest of her committee,” says Shannon. Tyler is the daughter of John Sims and Ju Hui Yoo of Richmond Hill, GA.

Sims joined UGA HEROs in February 2012. After going through a competitive application and interview process, she was chosen to be a member of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee. She said she joined HERO because “I wanted to join an organization that made a difference in people’s lives.” Sims has since furthered her involvement by being chosen to serve as an Upperclassmen Team Leader.
Sims says that her “WOW” moment with UGA HEROs was when we held HERO Day at the Atlanta Zoo in the Spring of 2012. She said, “It really put things into perspective for me and made me realize why we put so much hard work into what we do. It’s worth it to make the kids happy.”
